Yesterday we rescued Reuben from the euthanasia list at MCACC. He is an old guy who moves slow and hasn’t been taken very good care of. We are thrilled that we were given the chance to provide Reuben will all the love and care he has always deserved.

We are forever grateful to Peggy & Don Phillips for stepping up to foster Reuben and Rotten Rottie Rescue can’t thank you both enough!

This poor boy was found by a cop stuck in a canal in Phoenix. A police officer was able to pull him out and bring him to the shelter where he was so exhausted he couldn’t even stand. Animals often fall into the canals while trying to drink water. I can’t imagine the fear and terror he felt when he was unable to climb back out. No one knows how long he was in the canal, but we assume he was there for quite some time due to how he exhausted he was when he was finally pulled out.

When we picked him up today, he was covered in feces and smelled like death, he has a wound on his neck, sore hips and joints, a few broken nails, a dew claw that split in half and a UTI. We will mend all his wounds, give him medicine for his joints, feed him like a King, and provide Reuben with the safety and love he has always deserved.

He may not have mattered to the people who had him before, but he matters to us and he always will!! ❤️
