Starr with Spirit and Spirit's new brother

Stefanie, now known as Spirit, was officially adopted yesterday by Starr DeVarona of Marana, AZ! šŸ¾ā¤ļøĀ On their way home, things took an unexpected turn—the transmission in Starr’s Bronco gave out, leaving them stranded at a rest stop for three hours in yesterday’s brutal 116° heat! šŸ”„šŸ˜“Ā

Ā

But Spirit and her new brother handled it like champs. They shared water, stayed calm, and never once complained. I was a little nervous putting them in the car together right after meeting just an hour before, but they proved me wrong and bonded through the chaos like true soulmates. šŸ¶šŸ¶šŸ’ŖĀ

Ā

And get this—Starr also has two McCaws at home, and I was worried how Spirit might react. Turns out I should’ve been more worried about the birds! Starr said every time she’s brought a new dog home, the birds squawk and scream telling the newcomer to ā€œget lost.ā€ But not this time… they actually welcomed Spirit with open wings! šŸ¦œšŸ’•Ā

Ā

It’s like this girl was meant to be there. 🄰

Welcome home, Spirit!

Ā

Also wanted to give a shout out to Chris Reed for going up to Prescott to pick up Stefanie for us so that we can get her spayed and to Susan Custer for transporting her back.Ā

Ā

And shout out to Mat Cleveland with the Dog Teach for helping perfect Spirit’s walk on a leash and for introducing her to Tucker for us!
