Update: Dr Carr just called and after they knocked him out for surgery he was able to examine him better and he says that there are tumors all the way up his leg and he says that he doesnt think amputating his toe is going to make any difference and amputating his leg is to aggressive since it’s already spread to his lungs. There isn’t anything he can do for him. He doesn’t have a lot of time. I’m so so sad! This sucks.

I’m at Dr Carr’s this morning with Buddy to get his toe amputated. Thanks to the Love and Care of his foster parents, Niko and Deanna Huffman, Buddy’s foot looks a lot better already.

Waiting at Dr. Carr's clinic.

They were able to get most of the swelling down which will make it much easier for Dr Carr to do his job. I think he will feel much better once this tumor is gone. Our plea for funding to help pay his medical bills only brought in under $200. His surgery and after care is going to cost us thousands, so again, I ask you to consider helping us save this very sweet boy’s life and give a little this holiday season so we can give Buddy and other Rotties, the medical care that they desperately need!

You can donate in a few different ways:

Nobody deserves this more than BUDDY!!!  He is such an amazing, kind, sweet and loving dog!   It’s gonna break my heart in a million pieces if we can’t save him.

WARNING: The image below is a closer photo of his toe!! Don't scroll down if you don't want to see it.

If you can’t donate, we understand. The economy is tough right now, but you can still help him by sharing this on your Facebook pages because you just never know who might see that is in a position to help!!

Buddy's toe with the tumor

Buddy was found in this condition last week as a stray.

We just rescued this very handsome — but dirty and injured — baby boy. I picked him up on Friday afternoon and we’re now at EVE Pet Hospital getting his paw and leg checked out. I’m praying it’s not cancer and that we won’t have to amputate!

I called him Buddy, and he seems to respond to it already. Despite being in obvious pain, he is one of the sweetest, most trusting Rotties I’ve met in a long time! Buddy wandered onto someone’s porch today and decided that’s where he’d stay. The homeowner had to catch a plane at noon and didn’t know what to do with him, but thankfully, her neighbor (who I’ve helped with other Rotties before) reached out for help — and now Buddy is safe with us. He’s in the back right now having his vitals taken. Please keep this sweet boy in your prayers!

If you’d like to be Buddy’s hero, there are several ways you can help:

Venmo or Zelle: Use phone number 480-567-4328 (this works for both)

  •  PayPal or credit/debit card:

Visit www.rottenrottie.com and click the Donate button at the top

  •  QR Code Donations: Just press and hold the QR code on our page until it brings up the Google link

Please note: There are fake Rotten Rottie Rescue Venmo accounts out there using our logo. Only use our verified phone number or website link to make sure your donation goes directly to our rescue.

If you donate, please leave a comment below letting us know how and where you donated so we can track it and thank you properly. Every little bit helps Buddy on his road to recovery.

And if you’d like to foster Buddy while he heals, go to www.rottenrottie.com, click on the “How To” tab, then Foster to fill out the questionnaire. Becoming a Rottie Hero is such a wonderful way to make a difference — especially during the holidays!

Everyone at the ER has already fallen in love with him… and you will too.

🐾 Richard and Alicia Isaacson have officially adopted their foster dog, Luci (short for Lucifer)! 🐾

These two have been such an incredible part of our Rotten Rottie Rescue family. After losing their beloved Rosie a couple of years ago, they opened their hearts and home to several of our dogs by fostering Traz for about eight months, then Skittles and Kit Kat, and most recently our sweet Novah, who sadly passed away from cancer last month.

Just a couple of weeks before saying goodbye to Novah, they welcomed Luci into their home as a foster… and as it turns out, she was meant to stay. ❤️

We couldn’t be happier for Luci and the Isaacsons — what a perfect match! 🐶✨
