Juliette at the shelter
Juliette at the shelter

Thank you to Rachel and Dan Vance for stepping up and becoming a ROTTIE HERO and giving this baby a safe place to lay her head!’ Unfortunately, she has become very sick the past couple of days and now has pneumonia!

Juliette is sweet and gentle but hasn’t had the start to life all puppies deserve. At just 11 months old, she already knows what it feels like to be abandoned twice.😢

After being found as a stray and brought to the county shelter, she was adopted, then returned a few days later when her adopter found out she would be traveling abroad and could not keep her. The return had nothing to do with Juliette herself. By all accounts, she was an easy, gentle presence in the home.

Her adopter shared that Juliette was quiet, potty trained, not destructive, and knows sit. She enjoyed sleeping in bed with her person and settled in well. For a puppy her age, she already has a lovely foundation and simply needs consistency, patience, and a safe place to land.

Juliette is still young and eager to learn, but she has shown that she can be a calm, well-mannered house dog. We would love to place her in a foster home where she can continue to feel safe and loved while we work toward finding her forever family. She deserves stability, not another return to the shelter.

As winter continues, we are seeing a heartbreaking increase in homeless and neglected Rottweilers desperately needing our help. It feels as though all the backyard breeders have decided they were done with them, opened their gates and abandoned these loyal dogs to the streets.

Why does our community treat so many animals this way? I will never understand how humans can mistreat such innocent creatures - but with your help, we can begin to right the wrongs that have been done to them.

We cannot do this alone. We need your help. We need assistance to feed them, to cover their medical expenses, and to give them a chance at the loving homes they deserve.

None of us take a paycheck—every single donation goes directly toward the care of these incredible dogs. We do this out of love - love for this misunderstood and magnificent breed, and love for every dog that has been let down by humans. If you share our passion for Rottweilers, or if you simply want to help us care for these deserving dogs, please consider donating.

Rotten Rottie Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, so your donation may even be tax-deductible. With your help, we can give these dogs the second chance they deserve. Thank you for being a part of their second chance.

Emmy when she was found
Emmy when she was found

In September a Rottie was found in the back of a business with a dislocated hip. It was obvious she had just had babies, but they were nowhere to be found. It appeared that she was used, her babies were stolen from her and sold for profit, and she was beat up and discarded.

We named her Emmy and took her into our rescue. In October, she had an FHO surgery on her hip and she has healed up great, thanks to Dr Carr and her amazing foster parents, Peggy and Don!

On Saturday, 1/17, she moved into her forever home.

She was adopted by Paul & Cheryl Greis in Gilbert and she now has a Rottie brother and they love to play! Thank you, Peggy and Don for taking care of her!!

Congrats!! We love you, Emmy!!
