Rotten Rottie Rescue

PROFILES of ADOPTABLE ROTTWEILERS

Luke

Meet Luke

Luke is approximately 2 yrs. old, is a purebred Rottweiler who is very sweet, loves people. He knows basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar.

Novah on kids lap

Meet Novah

Large, purebred female Rottweiler, Novah is good with other dogs, people and children. She is very calm, very sweet and loves attention, knows basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar. All of our dogs would benefit from ongoing training.

She has been living with Archie since 2019 and they love each other. We would like to adopt them together, if possible but we will separate them, if necessary. She loves kids. Whoever adopts her will get a great girl! She is over weight unfortunately and on a strict diet.

Meet Kona

Kona

Kona is a beautiful, purebred female Rottweiler, who was originally purchased in Italy from a breeder there. Supposedly, she comes from a long line of champions, but the paperwork was lost when they moved. Her previous owner was in the military, and they brought Kona back with them when he retired from the service.

She is now 4 years old (born 1/20/2021). She was just spayed and just graduated from a board and train with Paw Creek Dog Training.

Kona's trainer will give you free lesson so Kona can continue to be the best version of herself. Kona does well with cats, but doesn't do great with other dogs. She can walk near them or by them without reacting but when she gets within a distance where she could touch them, she usually is not very friendly with them. She is a love bug with people, grew up with children in the house and does well with them. The little girl was between 2 and 6 years old while she lived with them. They surrendered her because they got divorced and both moved to places where Rottweilers are not welcome.

Meet Banjo

Banjo face.avif

Banjo is a stunning 1-year-old Rottweiler and is as sweet as he is handsome. Banjo may come off a bit shy or reserved when you first meet him, but don’t let that fool you—he just needs a little time to feel safe. Within a few hours, you’ll start to see his gentle personality peek through, and each day he grows more trusting and affectionate.

Despite his initial nerves, Banjo has never shown an ounce of aggression—even when scared. He’s incredibly gentle and takes comfort in the presence of other dogs, especially his best friend Mila, a fellow Rottie also in our rescue (photo and bio below). The two are very bonded and we would love nothing more than to find them a forever home together, but if that’s not possible, we strongly believe Banjo would thrive in a home with at least one other dog to help build his confidence.

Banjo is both potty and crate trained, walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands.  Banjo is truly a diamond in the rough—loving, loyal, and just waiting for the right family (and maybe a furry sibling) to help him shine.

Smoke 1.jpeg

Meet Smoke

Smoke is a purebred male Rottweiler who is 4 years old. His owner was allergic to him, so his sister’s owner volunteered to take him.  However, she already has 3 dogs and is pregnant and is now wanting to rehome him because 4 dogs is a lot for her.

He is good with people and other dogs.  He lived with children as young as 7 and did well with him.  About a month ago, he moved in with a female Rottie, who is his sister and 2 female golden doodles.  He has been doing very well with them.  He is very sweet, and loves to cuddle.

Smoke is potty and crate trained, knows his basic obedience commands and he is e-collar trained,.  His breeder is Vom Thunderheart Rottweilers and he has his papers.   Smoke walks well on a leash with a training collar. All of our dogs would benefit from ongoing training.

Smoke 3.jpeg
Maxwell

Meet Maxwell

He is a senior male rottweiler, loves all people and is very sweet. Max is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar. He seems to have a high prey drive so no small animals should be in his new home.  We are not sure if he is good with other dogs yet, but he is very smart and very affectionate.

Meet Gazan

Gazan has a unique personality that requires patience and understanding. Building with him is essential, and it's clear that once you establish a bond, he becomes a loyal companion. His past experiences might have contributed to his initial hesitance, but it’s great to see he can be calm around food and enjoys playtime. Just remember to be patient and give him the time he needs to feel secure.

I took him to a training class a couple of weeks ago and we were surrounded by rottweilers and their handlers in 4-6 feet in all directions and he was perfect. He walks perfect on a leash, and know all his basic commands well, in both English and Armenian. He is highly treat and toy motivated and that's the quickest way to win his heart.

Meet Angus

AGE Corrected 9/13/25:

Senior Purebred male rottweiler, Angus is estimated to be around 8 years old. His owner died and she lived alone in a large property in Wilcox, Az. He was living outside the house with a female mastiff and male cattle dog for a month. We were made aware of his situation and were able to bring him into our rescue. He is a very friendly well-behaved boy who loves attention.

He is house trained, does not get into stuff and is not destructive. Recalls very well and generally wants to please you. He is a bit over weight but he is working hard to lose it and has already shed 6 pounds. Has about another 20 to go.  Knows basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar. All of our dogs would benefit from ongoing training.

Oakley is a sweet senior Rottweiler who adores kids and all people! While she's selective with her doggy friends and loves to chase cats, she shines as a hiking partner and enjoys games of fetch. and easy to handle,

Oakley is always ready for a walk or some playtime in the yard. Plus, her natural instincts ensure your home stays safe, as she quickly alerts to any unusual activity!

Meet Kobe

AGE Corrected 9/13/2025:  Kobe is a 5 year old (per his chip) male Rottweiler saved from the Maricopa County Animal Care & Control euthanasia list.  He is a handsome, goofy Rottweiler overflowing with personality! He’s had some obedience training and is currently brushing up on his leash manners. Kobe is the “happy-to-meet-you” type who will do just about anything for a treat (he swears he’s always hungry — maybe because he was underfed before coming to us).

His playful energy and silly antics make him feel like a big 6-month-old puppy at heart. Kobe just visited the dentist, where his pearly whites got a full cleaning and polish… now he’s ready for his close-up in a Colgate commercial!.  Kobe would love to meet you if you are in to spending time, with a rottweiler with big energy and who  likes to be snuggled.

Fluffy

Meet Fluffy

Fluffy is a sweet girl who is terrified of most everything.  We took her in from a man with 27 cats who found her wandering the streets of Glendale.

She's neutral around other dogs and tends to keep to herself and doesn't care for their company. She’s been leash trained and goes through the motions when obedience training.  She is house-broken, crate trained and would prefer a home without cats.  Fluffy does have a tendency to bolt if given the chance.

If you're willing to give a scared dog a chance to see the world isn't so bad and she has a patient, loving person of her own, get in touch with us.

Precious

Meet Precious

Precious is a delightful dog who doesn't seem to have much Rottweiler in her DNA.  She's more like a charming super mutt!

She has a friendly and social personality, getting along well with some other dogs and absolutely she absolutely loves human companionship. She was taken in off the streets alongside with her companion, Fluffy, who is also in need of a home.

Nadia

Meet Nadia

Nadia is the sweetest female senior Rottweiler you would ever want to meet. She is good with other dogs, loves children, is great with people ~ even great at the vet's office!

She is potty and crate trained. Walks great on a leash and well behaved. She follows commands well. Loves car rides and chasing a toy. Did I mention she is drop dead gorgeous??

Everybody loves the little wrinkles on her nose. We believe she is about 7 or 8 years old. Still has lots of love to live and life to live. Won't you make this girl's dreams come true and give her a home to retire in?

She just had a full blood panel and is getting a dental cleaning on June 17 when she gets spayed. You are gonna love her when you meet her!'

Dragon

Meet Dragon

For the past 7 years, Dragon has thrived in a loving home with his canine friend, Daisy. Their bond is a source of joy and comfort and now find themselves in rescue after the heartbreaking passing of her dad and the inability of their mom to care for them.

We are determined to find a loving home where Dragon & Daisy can flourish together. They complement each other beautifully, and we believe that keeping them together is essential for both their well-being. Dragon is a sweet boy who is crate trained, potty trained, and knows basic commands. They get along well with other dogs and children, although are not a fan of cats. If you have room in your heart and home for both Daisy and Dragon, we would love to hear from you.

Mila.jpg

Meet Mila

Meet Mila– a beautiful adult female Rottweiler with a gentle heart and a playful spirit. At first, she can be a little shy and unsure when meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long for her sweet personality to shine through. Once she feels safe, she becomes affectionate, happy, and eager to be your friend.

She was brought into MCACC with a male and female rottie.  The female was adopted by someone, and we rescued her and her friend, Banjo, together and they truly enjoy each others company. (Watch the video below to see how bonded they are!) We would love to adopt them together but its not absolutely necessary.

Mila enjoys playing with other dogs and would love a canine buddy to share adventures with. She’s both potty trained and crate trained, making her a well-mannered house guest. Currently, she’s working on learning her obedience commands — and with her intelligence and quick learning, she’s picking them up in no time.

If you’re looking for a loving companion who just needs a little patience at first, Mila could be the perfect match for you.

Daisy
Daisy

Meet Daisy

Daisy's journey has been nothing short of heartbreaking, and yet, through it all, she has shown remarkable resilience and a capacity for love.

For the past seven years, Daisy thrived in a loving home alongside her canine friend, Dragon. Their bond was a source of joy and comfort, especially for Daisy, who has faced so much loss and uncertainty. Now, at 10 years old, she finds herself back in rescue after the heartbreaking passing of her dad and the inability of their mom to care for them.

We are seeking a family who understands the commitment it takes to care for a dog with Daisy's history.  A family that will shower her with love and compassion for the rest of her days.

Meet Wilcox

Wilcox is a purebred Rottweiler probably about 3 or 4 years old. He is good with people, but not good with dogs. He has been professionally trained and he comes with free mandatory training lessons for his new owner. This is to ensure that you get the best out of him. He is a super happy, funny loving boy!!  He just can't stand other animals. He does know all his obedience commands and walks well on a leash with a training collar.

Cali

Meet Cali

Cali is a Rottie mix and was rescued from a living in a tent with a homeless person in Bakersfield, CA with a litter of puppies.

She is terrific with kids and all people, but she can be selective with her dog friends.  If they don't act crazy, she acts like they don't exist.  She's outgrown the need to demolish her toys and will carry them around like a baby.

Cali is house-broken, crate trained, knows her basic obedience commands and loves to go on walks.

Meet Bronson

We believe Bronson is a purebred Rottie, but someone stole his diamonds (eye spots)! The markings on his face are very faint.

Good with people but very reserved when you meet him. Once he gets to know you, he loves to cuddle. He knows his basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar. He is well-behaved and we enjoy having him around. He does not get into things he shouldn't and is highly food motivated, which is great for teaching new tricks. All of our dogs would benefit from ongoing training.

He is charming dog who gets along well with friendly pups, especially the ladies! He’s good with children, but we recommend a home with older kids who can respect his space. Building trust with Bronson takes time; gentle structured walks and giving him space for the first couple of weeks are key. Once he feels secure, he’ll be ready for cuddles and playtime, especially if you have some toys or a pool for him to splash around in!

Emmy 1.jpg

Meet Emmy

Emmy is such a sweet girl!  She was bred and tossed out by her owner - found by a dumpster like she was thrown away like trash!  Her hip was dislocated; she couldn't walk and was begging for someone to help her.

We took her in, and she is now recovering from her FHO hip surgery (surgery on 10/16/25). She would love a family that will be home with her a lot, as she doesn't like to be left alone.

Emmy is a purebred female Rottweiler approximately 1-2 years old.   She is good with people, very sweet, and knows basic obedience and walks well on a leash with a training collar.

Meet Chapo

Chapo, a young male Rottweiler puppy, is currently navigating the world with a bit of trepidation. Like many puppies, he is naturally curious, but new experiences can sometimes overwhelm him, especially when it comes to meeting unfamiliar people. Upon arriving at the shelter, he felt an immediate sense of anxiety, which led him to seek comfort and reassurance from our intake director, Valerie.

In a heartwarming yet poignant moment, Chapo instinctively chose to hide behind Valerie, using her as a shield against the bustling activity around him. As we waited for the necessary vaccinations before his departure from the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC), where the grim decision had been made to euthanize him the following morning due to his fearful disposition, Chapo clung to Valerie’s side.

Chapo

His choice to seek safety behind her was not just a testament to his shy nature, but also a sign of the bond he was beginning to form with someone who represented hope and protection in an otherwise intimidating environment.

As we prepared to take him away from the shelter, it became clear that Chapo needed a gentle touch and a patient heart to help him overcome his fears. With each passing moment, it was evident that this little puppy, despite his initial fright, was ready to embark on a new journey filled with love, care, and the promise of a brighter future.  Watch his video leaving the shelter on Facebook here.

Meet Izzy

Izzy
Izzy

Izzy is a purebred 7 month old female Rottweiler puppy.  Her breeder sold at 8 weeks to another breeder, who was planning on breeding her when she turned two. She was basically isolated and kept in a pen outside while they waited for her to turn of age. They did not socialize her or teach her anything, they just fed her.

That breeder broke her ankle and decided to return her to the original  breeder, but the original breeder didn't have room for her so she surrendered her to us, thank goodness!

Izzy is so so sweet.  She just wants to be loved so bad. She is scared of everything because everything is so new to her. She wants nothing more then to please someone and receive love in exchange.

She loves other dogs and we have not been able to test her with cats or children, but I have a feeling that that she is probably good with both.  We have started training her and she is learning everything. Izzy is such a smart girl she picks up on stuff pretty quick.  She is very submissive, which is the only thing really standing in her way.  We are working on building her confidence. When I call her to me, she wants to army crawl to me. She is motivated by praise or treats.
